KAHWAH , Kashmiri green tea

 kahwah and me :

Qehwa, kehwa or Kahwa all means the same its one of my favorite tea. its sweet and spicy tea in taste(original kahwa). Traditionally, Kashmiri Kehwa is prepared in a beautiful brass kettle known as a samovar but when i make it ,its simply on gas stove . since it can be sweet as well as salty , my friends always used to get surprised with how differently it tastes every time i made as every time they came to my place i made this tea with different ingredients.

ORIGINAL kahwah:  For all you tea lovers, here is the recipe of kashmiri green tea "kahwah". its not just delicious but also beneficial as it cures cough and cold, throat infection and head aches.

(Other then original kahwah you can also try different flavors by just adding and subtracting few ingredients to the original one.)

 SALTY kahwah :

experiment kahwah with adding salt to it instead of sugar , give a new taste to your taste buds . Most importantly its one of the best home remedies of stomach aches and indigestion problems.
LEMON kahwah:

this kaswah is realy treat for those who love lemon tea and the best part is, it cures  throat infection and heas ache.

INGREDIENTS: (For 1 serving)

> Half tea spoon kahwah (kashmiri green tea)
> 4 chopped or crushed almonds (badam) or 1 walnut (akhrot)
> Spices { 1 cardamom (elaichi), 1/2 stick of cinnamon  (dal chini), 1 clove(laung), a small piece of ginger(adrak).}
> Sugar or honey according to taste
> Pinch of saffron (kesar)

DIRECTIONS: (For 1 serving)


1. Boil one and half cup water
2. Add slightly crushed cinnamon stick (dal chini), ginger (adrak), cloves (laung) and cardamom (elaichi) .
3. Add 1/2 tea spoon of kahwah tea leaves to the boiling water .
4. Heat it up for 2 to 3 min and when you sense the aroma pour the tea into the cup
 *TIP (try kahwah without filtering the spices like kashmiri's do.)
5. Add a pinch of saffron (kesar) and crushed almonds (badam) on the top of your hot green tea.
6. Sweeten it according to your taste with honey or sugar if you like and serve hot.
